Pall FluoroTrans Transfer Membranes, Pall Membrane Filters
"Ideal for a wide variety of protein-analysis applications, these membranes with 0.2µm pore sizes feature naturally hydrophobic polyvinylidene fluoride filter media. The FluoroTrans media are white, microporous solid phase supports that bind proteins tenaciously via hydrophobic interactions. The high surface area allows for strong hydrophobic interaction with proteins and typically adsorbs 50% more protein than nylon or nitrocellulose. Filter membranes are resistant to a wide range of chemical solvents (i.e., acetone, DMSO, dimethyl formamide) and will not shrink during destaining with methanol. Resistance to trifluoroacetic acid and triethylamine allows direct insertion of FluoroTrans membrane materials into amino acid analyzers and gas phase protein sequencing equipment. The FluoroTrans PVDF membrane is optimized for N-terminal protein sequencing and features good signal-to-noise with standard detection systems. Immobilized proteins can be used directly for sequencing or visually detected with common staining reagents, including Amido Black, Ponceau S, and colloidal gold. The FluoroTrans W membrane is optimized for Western transfer applications but can also be used for Southern transfers. This membrane allows for sensitive protein detection with low background and very low protein burn-through. Immobilized proteins can be visually detected with Coomassie blue, Amido Black, Ponceau S, and colloidal gold."

Pall Biodyne Transfer Membranes, Pall Membrane Filters
Provide high sensitivity and low background for enhanced detection and resolution. Will not crack, shrink, or tear when subjected to multiple cycles of hybridization, stripping, and reprobing. Membranes are intrinsically hydrophilic for easy wetting. Resistant to common solvents such as acetone, alcohol, chlorinated aliphatic hydrocarbons, formamide, 2M NaOH, DMSO, and dimethylformamide. Not compatible with concentrated formic acid (>50%), HCl (>4M), oxidizing agents, and long exposures (days to weeks) to pH <2.

Transfer membranes are made of hydrophobic polyvinylidene fluoride membrane. BioTrace PVDF has more controlled porous structure for consistent, increased binding and retention of biomolecules. Also has higher mechanical strength for greater ease in handling. Membranes feature broad compatibility, and minimal background staining for greater band resolution. Pall GN Metricel Membrane Disc Filters, Pall Filter Membrane
The GN-6 membrane is certified for the microbiological analysis of potable, waste, process, and natural waters in accordance with the Membrane Filter Technique referenced in Standard Methods for the Examination of Water and Wastewater. Ideal for isolation and enumeration of total and fecal coliforms, E. coli, fecal Streptococcus, fungi, and other heterotrophic bacteria. The GN-4 membrane is suitable for air monitoring applications and meets NIOSH requirements for airborne metals and asbestos monitoring. GN-6 and GN-4 Metricel membrane filters are made of mixed cellulose esters. GN-6 grids have a unique dot grid pattern that provides easy quantification of bacterial colonies without growth inhibition or enhancement. GN-4 membranes dissolve completely using standard digestion procedures, and clear completely for minimal interference in fiber counting. Autoclavable.

Ideal for filtration of gas and organic solvents. Also used for air filtration and venting. Choice of filter media: hydrophobic PTFE membrane for exceptional chemical and temperature compatibility; hydrophilic nylon membrane for excellent chemical compatibility with esters, bases, and alcohols, and no prewetting; GHP (hydrophilic polypropylene) membrane for low protein binding; and hydrophilic PVDF (polyvinylidine fluoride) membrane for use in aqueous and nonaggressive, solvent-based mobile phases. PVDF membrane is not for acetone, DMF, DMSO, or bases >6N. All membranes are HPLC certified for low levels of UV-absorbing extractables. These 25mm filters are ideal for scale up. Filters feature a polypropylene housing and a choice of four membrane types to assure compatibility with a wide range of fluids. Choose Supor (hydrophilic polyethersulfone), Ultipor (amphoteric Nylon N66), Fluorodyne II (hydrophilic polyvinylidene fluoride), or Posidyne (positively-charged Nylon N66) membrane. Filters are tested for bacterial retention to assure sterile filtrate and can be integrity tested by the water bubble point method. There is no need to change membrane materials during transition to pilot or full-scale production. Filters have a female Luer-lock inlet and a male slip Luer outlet. Sterilized by gamma irradiation.

Culture Capsules, 0.2 µm, Sterile, Pall
Specifically designed for sterilizing cell culture media. Disposable culture capsules incorporate two layers of low protein binding HT Tuffryn (polysulfone) membrane for reliable purification. Pleated design for maximum throughput and effective filtration. Body housing and end caps are constructed of polycarbonate with a polypropylene core and vent plug. The upstream/downstream filter support is polyester. For additional safety, a polycarbonate filling bell is available. Sterilized by gamma irradiation. If further sterilization is desired prior to use, capsules may be autoclaved once only at 121°C (250°F) for 20 minutes at 1.0bar (15psi). Nonpyrogenic. Culture capsules pass USP Class VI-121°C Plastics Test. Endotoxicity is less than 0.5 EU/mL using the Limulus Amebocyte Lysate (LAL) Test. Finished product has been sampled and tested for bacterial retention per ASTM F838-83 methodology using Brevundimonous diminuta at 107 organisms/cm2 in cell culture media.

Use Nanosep devices to concentrate, purify, and desalt peptides, proteins, oligonucleotides, DNA, and RNA. Also use to clean up molecules following labeling reactions and PCR†. Use Nanosep MF to isolate DNA from agarose gel slices; separate proteins, oligonucleotides, and RNA from acrylamide gels; and clarify samples before HPLC analysis. Both centrifugal devices give rapid sample processing with typical recoveries >90%. Tubes are constructed of polypropylene. Filter medium of Nanosep is Omega (low protein-binding, modified polyethersulfone) on polyethylene substrate. Filter medium of Nanosep MF is Bio-Inert modified nylon. Nonsterile. These polypropylene plates are available with either a 0.2µm nitrocellulose membrane or 0.45µm polyvinylidene fluoride membrane that exhibits high binding capacities for proteins and nucleic acids. A downstream layer of hydrophobic Emflon PTFE allows longer incubations with the wells and acts as a barrier to passive flow. Membrane is sealed to bottom of plate with proprietary sealing technology to eliminate crosstalk. A small hole in the bottom membrane support layer allows fluid to pass under applied vacuum or centrifugation and prevents solution loss during extended or high temperature incubations. Plates are chemically resistant, low in biomolecule binding, and feature a robotics-friendly design with single-piece construction. Cascada AN-water Ultrapurification System, Pall
The AN-water purification system provides ultrapure water for optimal chromatographic results and longer column life by incorporating full spectrum UV photo-oxidation technology for oxidation of organic contaminants at 185nm and radiation at 254nm, killing bacteria. A 0.05µm ultra-microfiltration filter removes colloids and bacteria. Dual purification packs incorporate high-quality organic absorbents, ion exchange resins, and membrane processes to purify water to 18.2megohm-cm in order to meet ASTM Type I, ISO 3696, NCCLS Type I, CAP, and USP 27 specifications. The water has extremely low levels of inorganic and organic contaminants for the most demanding HPLC, GC-MS, ion chromatography, solid phase extraction, and other UV spectrometry applications. System features faster, consistent water purification with real-time, continuous quality monitoring. Multistage monitoring analyzes water throughout system to ensure water quality. A pure water recirculation system maintains consistent peak quality. Quality results such as resistivity, temperature, and TOC content are available immediately, with no waste of water. Unit features adjustable audio and visual alarms and LCD screens for power on, process on, intermittent operation, recirculation, dispense flow rate, percentage full, sanitation, and feed water flush. The unit automatically calibrates electronic circuitry during startup, eliminating the need for calibration modules. An adjustable flow rate allows the user to dispense water drop by drop, or up to 2L/min (0.53gal./min). The entire fluid pathway is included in the automated disinfection process to ensure complete sanitation. Data tagged sanitation blocks prevent other operations from interrupting the sanitation process. Electronically tagged cartridges prevent incorrect cartridge fitting and potential leaks. Tag data is displayed on the control monitor, which shows cartridge number, installation date, and recommended change-out date. An RS-232 port allows for the downloading of information to a PC, providing a permanent record of water quality and system parameters, as recommended by GLP guidelines. The RS-232 printer kit includes a thermal printer, RS-232 cable, and two rolls of paper. The remote dispensing station includes dispensing gun and a bracket that can be used up to 2m (6.6') from the unit. The gun has a range of 1m (3.2') from the bracket. Cascada RO-water Purification System, Pall
The Cascada RO-water purification system produces Type III/IV primary-grade water from potable tap water. Water conforms to ASTM Type III and BS3978 Grade 3 specifications. System is useful for pretreatment of water prior to ultrapure water purification, routine glassware washing, hydroponics, or use as feed water for humidifiers and autoclaves. The system removes up to 98% of organics, microorganisms, and particles using high flux, thin-film composite non-cellulose membranes. Easy-to-use controls, informative status displays, and simple maintenance routines ensure simple operation. The microprocessor-controlled system continuously monitors and displays water quality. System features a large, backlit alphanumeric LCD for power on, process on, standby, and auto-rinse. Adjustable audio and visual alarms ensure consistent and reliable operation. Other safety features include power fail-safe, automatic level controls, and an auto-restart. An RS-232 data port allows for data collection and a permanent record of water quality and system parameters. A built-in auto-rinse cycle performs every time the purification process is initiated and consists of a high-flow rinse to drain across the RO cartridges. Unit may be used on a benchtop, or mounted under the bench or on a wall. The 35L (9.2gal.) docking vessel cradles the system, eliminating space requirements for an optional reservoir tank. Level sensor, clean water storage reservoirs are available in three sizes. Wall mounting kits are available for the docking vessel, 75L (19.8gal.) reservoir, and the Cascada system.
