BBL Pouch Systems - EZ Pouch Systems - The older style BBL Pouch systems have been replaced by the newer style EZ Pouch systems listed below. To ease the conversion to the newer EZ pouch, both the older BBL Pouch and the replacement EZ Pouch is listed below. PRINCIPLES OF THE PROCEDURE ~ The GasPak™ EZ Gas Generating Pouch Systems are single-use systems that produce atmospheres suitable to support the primary isolation and cultivation of anaerobic, microaerophilic, or capnophilic bacteria by use of gas generating sachets inside single-use resealable pouches. The GasPak EZ Gas Generating Sachet consists of a reagent sachet containing inorganic carbonate, activated carbon, ascorbic acid and water. When the sachet is removed from the outer wrapper, the sachet becomes activated by exposure to air. The activated reagent sachet and specimens are placed in the GasPak EZ Incubation Container and the container is sealed. The sachet rapidly reduces the oxygen concentration within the container. At the same time, inorganic carbonate produces carbon dioxide. **For the cultivation of anaerobic bacteria, the GasPak EZ Anaerobe Container System Sachets produce an anaerobic atmosphere within 2.5 h, with greater than 15% carbon dioxide within 24 h. **For the cultivation of microaerophilic bacteria, the GasPak EZ Campy Container System Sachets produce a microaerophilic atmosphere within 2 h with approximately 6-16% oxygen, and 2-10% carbon dioxide within 24 h. **For the cultivation of carbon dioxide requiring organisms, the GasPak EZ CO2 Container System Sachets produce an atmosphere within 24 h with greater than or equal to 2.5% carbon dioxide.
Disposable Gas Generating Envelopes-Use in
GasPak Jar Systems to produce anaerobic, microaerophilic, or CO2-supplemented
aerobic atmospheres. Each specially designed foil envelope emits its gases when
you add 10mL water.
GasPak Hydrogen + CO2-For CO2-enriched
anaerobic environment. Contains one tablet sodium borohydride and one tablet
sodium bicarbonate and citric acid.
GasPak Plus Hydrogen + CO2 with
Safety-Shielded Integral Palladium Catalyst Strip-For CO2-enriched
anaerobic environment. Assures accurate quantities of fresh, active catalyst
for every run. Identical contents to 270304, plus palladium catalyst
strip.
GasPak CO2-Produces CO2-enriched/aerobic
environmentfor the cultivation of Neisseriae, Brucellae, Mycobacteria, and
other organisms and tissue cultures. Containes one tablet sodium bicarbonate
and citric acid.
CampyPak Hydrogen + CO2-Produces
microaerophilic environment for growth and isolation of Campylobacter jejuni.
Produces atmosphere approximately 5 to 12% CO2; residual atmosphere of
approximately 5 to 15% oxygen. Contains one tablet sodium borohydride and one
tablet sodium bicarbonate and citric acid.
CampyPak Plus Hydrogen + CO2 with Integral
Palladium Catalyst-Produces microaerophilic environment for growth of
Campylobacter and Campylobacter-like strains. Assures accurate quantities of
fresh, active catalyst for every run. Produces atmosphere approximately 5 to
12% CO2; residual atmosphere approximately 5 to 15% oxygen. Safety ensured by
delayed release of hydrogen gas via a paper wick system. Identical contents to
271034, plus palladium catalyst.
